We're Off!

But just for the weekend to find a place to live in Seattle.  We have a couple appointments lined up with places in Fremont and Ballard and we're going to check out the Broadview area as well since it's a bit closer to where I will be working. We also get to go with these brand new nice suitcases that my dad got for me today! :-)

Wish us luck!

OH my GOODNESS!!

Holy... Moly... the time is going SO fast! Adina and I are off to Seattle again tonight to (hopefully) nail down a place to live and I get to do a little more testing for jobs up there. It feels like yesterday we still had a ton of time left and now we're at T-2 weeks and counting! Wish I could drop a longer note up here but I've gotta finish packing for the trip and head over the hill to pick up the gurlie for our flight!

Thanks everybody for all the support and good wishes so far. All of these little trips are bitter sweet, were really excited to be moving up there and really getting going on a new adventure but sad to be going that much farther away from all of you.

Catch you all later eh :-D

Check Mark: Save The Dates

Yet another item check off our list!

We made them ourselves at Cardstore.com and it was super easy.

Awhile after we mail them out, we will post what they look like, but for now we want them to be a surprise!

In Case You Were Wondering...

All the food at our rehearsal dinner and reception will all be gluten free!  And dairy free, with the exception of some possible goat and/or sheep milk cheese in one dish. As a person with so many food sensitivities and allergies I not only want to show how easy and tasty it is, but I know that there will be other folks there that have some of the same dietary needs. So we might as well make it all more allergy friendly.  We could probably take out soy and nuts as well, but I don't know of anyone coming to the wedding that have allergies to those two.

For some reason, I think this comes across as a bit shocking to some folks, but having a gluten and dairy free meal is actually remarkably easy. It's mostly all about the quality and purity of the ingredients you use and just substituting when necessary.

We have selected a caterer and we do have a menu, but I don't think it's going to be the final version of our menu. So more on that later once things get firmed up!

The official wedding venue post!

Welp it's official, the deposit has been sent, vendors are getting confirmed and quite frankly we've delegated almost all of our wedding related tasks to Beth, our wedding planner, so we can start concentrating on moving, and finding me (Zeke) a new job. What that means is there is now no way that we are going to change the venue for anything, besides we love it, so why would we?. So... without further ado I present to you the The Carmel Ocean View Vacation Home high atop Point Lobos Ridge, right here...

It's just outside of Carmel and you can see down over Monterey all the way up to Capitola and Santa Cruz (if you have binoculars and the weather is nice).

Oh Flowers...

Well before I get to flowers.  I should really learn to never post that we will be having anything specific, because it inevitably seems that things always change. Or at least go through several evolutions.

We got back a proposal from the florist and while I know it was actually on the more reasonable side for a wedding it still scared me.

So I've been doing a bit more thinking about what kind of flowers we really want to have. Although, I know we are set on having the Pampas Grass...

And blue cornflowers...
Other thoughts include...

Thoughts? Opinions? Suggestions?

The Return of the Planning Board!

It's back and it's updated! It really makes it look like we've accomplished a lot in the last couple of weeks! Luckily I don't have to keep it to organized since we have our wedding planner for that sort of thing now! Yay! This is just fun for me to keep up on now.

Brown Pom Hat

Finally a hat for me!  This one is made of Adrienne Vittadini "Trini" yarn in two different colors. It's got a 3x3 rib around the base of the hat that flows into just a regular knit.  Then the ear flaps are just knitting rows and decreasing into an i-cord. And the best part of this hat is that Zeke made the pom poms!  He is really great at making them!
